Soraia Pinto is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S), University of Porto, Portugal. She concluded her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS), University of Porto, Portugal, in 2024, under a partnership with the Department of Biomaterials & Biomedical Technology at University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands. Her main research interests are focused on intestinal target nanomedicines, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Since 2018, she has been developing extensive research in the field of nanotechnology, which has resulted in the publication of 18 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (6 as first-author and 12 as co-author), and 3 book chapters (1 as first-author, and 2 as co-author). Throughout her scientific career, she has been an active member of several societies in the fields of drug delivery, pharmaceuticals sciences, and diabetes mellitus, including Controlled Release Society (CRS, as Ambassador for the YSC CRS, and Trainee Representative of the Oral Delivery Focus Group), Spanish/Portuguese Local Chapter of CRS (as membership), and Sociedade Portuguesa de Diabetologia (as membership).
