Summary

This study investigates the feasibility of hot melt extrusion (HME) combining polyvinylpyrrolidone with thermoplastic water soluble polymer hypromellose as a technique to simultaneously enhance solubility of poorly soluble drugs and facilitate the production of sustained release pellets that deliver the drug payload in a time frame of 8 hours.
