About the Award
The Controlled Release Society Transdermal Delivery Kydonieus Foundation Award recognizes CRS members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of transdermal delivery science and technology over a minimum of five (5) years. Contributions may have been technical, scientific, and/or managerial in the field of transdermal delivery commercial development, education, and/or leadership within the areas of interest to CRS.
The CRS retains the right not to award any award for any given year if the candidates are not at the level of scientific excellence required.
Criteria
- Nominee must be an established investigator who has made an outstanding innovative contribution in the area of transdermal delivery.
- Nominees for the award may be from academia, industry, or government and may be representative of all demographic groups.
- Nominees must be a current CRS member.
Service and leadership within CRS will be considered, but is not a requirement for the receiving of Transdermal Delivery Kydonieus Foundation Award
Nominations
All nominations for the primary CRS awards are submitted through the same form for consideration. Please note, that self-nominations are greatly encouraged. The following areas will be reviewed for eligibility by the Award Committee:
- Contributions to Drug Delivery Science (50% - Primary Criteria)
- Contributions to the Controlled Release Society (30%)
- Contributions to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (20%)
- A CV for the nominee is requiredÂ
Selection Process
The Transdermal Kydonieus Award Committee will make the selection of the awardee. The committee is generally comprised of a Chair selected by the CRS Awards Board Liaison, 1 previous winner, 1 College of Fellows member, and 1 Skin and Mucosal (previously Transdermal and Mucosal) Focus Group past Chair.
