Summary

The in-vitro skin permeation of acetyl hexapeptide-8 (AH8) from three different vehicles, namely from a multiple water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W), a water-in-oil (W/O) and an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion, was investigated by Franz-type diffusion cell experiments. Moreover, the suitability of LC-MS/MS as a sensitive analytical method for assessing skin permeation of AH8 was confirmed in this study. Additional ATR-FTIR measurements combined with tape stripping were conducted to gain better insight into the skin penetration of the different vehicles.
