Ocular Drug Delivery Focus Group at Annual Meeting

Publish Date

Dear Members of the CRS Community,

It is my great pleasure to become one of the first members of the new Ocular Delivery Focus Group in the Controlled Release Society. I am excited to be a part of this new network of vision scientists and want to share with you the reasons why I will be attending the inaugural Focus Group events at this year’s Annual Meeting.

First, there will be no better opportunity to engage with other researchers in the growing field of Ocular Drug Delivery at the CRS Annual Meeting. I am confident that the membership of the Ocular Delivery Focus Group will reflect the newest and most innovative technologies for protecting or restoring vision. The events will start with the very first business meeting* of this new group from, which will be a chance to collaborate and discuss what the future holds for us. The Focus Group social event** later that day will be a chance to build on the momentum of the business meeting and celebrate the establishment of all of the new Focus Groups.

Second, for the first time ever, there will be a scientific session*** devoted completely to this new Ocular Delivery Focus Group. The speakers will be discussing cutting-edge translational research across a wide range of ophthalmic diseases and delivery systems in what is sure to be an excellent series of talks.

Lastly, I am choosing to be an active member of this new Focus Group because of the potential it holds as it continues to grow. The newly established Young Investigator Awards and Trainee (Grad Student/PostDoc) Awards will be given out each year, will recognize the efforts of the best and brightest in our community, and each year’s meeting will highlight the top new research in ophthalmic controlled release.

I hope you’ll join me as a founding member of the Ocular Delivery Focus Group and participate along at the Annual Meeting events. Together we can build a strong community of vision researchers within CRS and shape the future of the field. Please click on the link in this email to join our community. There is no cost to join!
