Gülçin Arslan Azizoğlu, is a licensed pharmacist and Research Scientist II in the Laboratory of Drug Delivery at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. Her academic journey began at Ege University in İzmir, Türkiye, where she earned a master's degree in cosmetology and a PhD in pharmaceutical technology. Working with Prof. Mark Prausnitz, Gülçin is currently dedicated to pioneering advancements in transdermal drug delivery systems. She focuses on advancing microneedle patch technology for the effective administration of long-acting contraceptive drugs and developing a new patch for a promising vaccine candidate against Malaria.
Her professional journey led her to collaborate extensively with Dr. Erkan Azizoglu, cultivating over a decade of research in drug delivery. Together, their efforts bore fruit not only in scientific discoveries but also in their personal lives, welcoming their lovely daughter, Deniz Evrim, into their family in 2017. Outside the lab, she takes pleasure in the world of coffee, experimenting with various beans and brewing methods. Her passions extend to exploring new destinations and savoring diverse cuisines. Most importantly, she values quality time spent with her family and making lifelong memories.
