Nick Lamson is a postdoc in the lab of Prof. Paula Hammond at MIT in Cambridge, MA (USA), using layer-by-layer constructed nanoparticles to improve delivery of therapeutics to the brain. He previously completed his Ph.D. in the lab of Prof. Kathryn Whitehead at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA (USA), manipulating the movement of macromolecules through the intestinal epithelium, with an emphasis on enhancing absorption of protein drugs for oral drug delivery. Nick plans to follow a career path in academia, combining research enthusiasm with a passion for mentoring the future bright minds of our field. Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, cooking, and exploring new cities.
